Please keep in mind that although Wheatsville desires to be generous with donations, we are still only a small local business with a limited budget for donations. Here are the guidelines we use to make decisions about donation to help you understand the process. We give consideration to nonsectarian, nonpartisan organizations and events that fit into one or more of the following criteria: Co-op related Focused on the environment Food related Local community groups or organizations Local groups in and around the neighborhoods served by Wheatsville Co-op Limited to one donation per organization in a calendar year If you are planning a project that fits our criteria, please feel free to contact us regarding a donation. Donations are reviewed on a monthly basis, so we need you to submit your request at least 4 weeks in advance of your fundraiser or event. We give all eligible donations equal consideration, so to be fair, we cannot expedite or make exceptions for requests made after the deadline. Decisions are based on factors such as the group's consistency with Wheatsville's mission, need, the number of people who would benefit from the donation, as well as the funds available in Wheatsville's budget. While we love to hear from owners and people in the community, the sheer volume of requests can be overwhelming. We are currently without a Donation Coordinator so we ask that you please refrain from calling about your event or the status of your donation. Emailing will avoid the frustration of talking to other staff that are unable to help you. Save printing and mailing costs (and the environment) by not sending or dropping off any extra paperwork -- an email is all we need!
