CoHousing
First phase of infrastructure construction completed
November 2008. Our projected move-in date (subject to
change) is late 2009. The site is 6 acres in Austin, Texas.
We will have 37 homes (ranging from one bedroom to four
bedrooms) clustered around a community green. Additionally,
two acres of green belt, wildflowers, pecan grove, and fruit
orchard provide creek, landscape buffer, play and gardening
space. Twenty homes are already spoken for; the remaining
will be made available for reservation in a few months, when
pricing will be more predictable. Prospective buyers must go
through an orientation/self-selection process. We practice
consensus decision-making and wish to appeal to a wide range
of household types and ages. We have no ideological
viewpoint other than a wish to live in a close-knit and
interdependent community. Please contact us by

Sasona Cooperative
provides individual rooms in a spacious, democratically run,
member-owned household. While each of the rooms is
located within the house, each member of the house has an
independant lease for residence, making this an appealing
alternative to traditional apartment housing.
Voluntary (but recommended) attendance meetings are held
each Sunday evening to discuss issues/events of the
membership choice, and also as a means by which prospective
members can become familiar with the operations of the
house. The house is a sprawling one floor space, located on
an acre of grounds in the Southern end of the Zilker Park
neighbourhood. The house features private rooms, as
well as 3 common living rooms, 4 porches, 3 and two half
baths, an acre of live-oak shaded land, and a giant
kitchen.
